Advertising and Public Relations

We're looking for an experienced and creative Digital Marketing Advisor with a passion for social media and all things digital to join the small but mighty Marketing & Communications team at Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne.

As part of this team, you'll help bring our brand to life online – building online engagement and connecting people with nature and conservation. You'll be a champion for storytelling across our online platforms.

Does this sound like you?

You're a bit of a bird nerd, and love to share a fungi fact or two. You could spend hours searching for skinks in the sun and know your camera roll will be filled with videos of takahē and tuatara within your first day on the job. You've got at least 3 years' experience working in social media marketing and can tell a story across multiple channels, from Tiktoks to blogs. You understand how to impact reach and engagement with quality content, have an eye for a collaboration opportunity and know how to apply even the strangest social media trends into a wider digital strategy.

If that's you, then keep reading...

Reporting to, and supported by, the Marketing and Communications Manager, you’ll be managing Zealandia’s digital channels – including developing social media content plans, managing communications to members and supporters, and contributing to wider marketing campaigns. You'll be collaborating with other organisational teams to promote public events and the stories of Zealandia’s conservation work. You'll also be managing the Zealandia website, including content development and usability. Please see Position Description for a full list of responsibilities.

Like all members of staff at Zealandia, you’ll be expected to actively uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, actively continue your journey of learning te reo Māori (we provide te reo lessons), maintain and promote exceptional health and safety, and support the maintenance of biosecurity in the sanctuary.
